Hi, I'm Elise
I’m a project manager, a parent, and an expatriate residing in Paris, France.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to France wasn’t in our long-range plan. Like many international relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The early months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Daily tasks felt more complicated than they should.
The Adjustment Period
There was cultural adjustment, uncertainty, and plenty of hands-on learning. Yet over time, routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt steady.
Why I Built QuietIslandBay
Most online guidance was either corporate relocation advice or shallow tourism content. What was missing was a sincere, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to fill that gap with practical advice drawn from real life in France.
What This Site Represents (And What It Isn't)
This site is:
- Hands-on insight from life in France
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site is NOT:
- A tourism board resource
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- Just another generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our stay in France goes on, and so does the process of learning. As long as the information remains useful, I will continue recording what we find.
If you have questions about family life in Paris or anywhere in France, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
Elise
